Our Staff

Turning Point’s counselling team are professionally trained and certified addictions counsellors and/or hold advanced degrees in social work, social services or other health related disciplines. A large number of our team have lived-experience and many are alumni of Turning Point. All of our employees are governed by the ethics, policies and guidelines of the Society and the certifying boards of their respective licensing and regulatory boards.

Turning Point’s Executive Director Receives Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal

Turning Point Recovery Society Executive Director, Brenda L. Plant, has over 35 years’ experience in the non-profit sector specializing in addictions, mental health and domestic violence. She is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and is licensed as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and Certified Addictions Program Administrator with International Reciprocity. She has been the Executive Director at Turning Point since 2005.

Brenda is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her “service and commitment to the citizens of British Columbia and for her tireless dedication and work in the fields of addiction services, mental health and domestic violence”. Brenda has also been honoured with the Val Anderson Humanitarian Award which recognizes “enormous kindnesses extended towards fellow British Columbians”. The award was presented to Brenda by then Premier Christy Clark.
